To many of you, I am Preacher Payton's youngest daughter.  We shared ten years together as a church family.  When dad

was diagnosed with cancer, you exemplified what the church should be, by graciously taking care of our every need.  In his

death, we mourned together.  Over the years, when I've returned for Homecomings or other events, I've been pleased to see

how well the church buildings have been maintained; how careful you've been to preserve the history of the church, while

following and fulfilling new visions.

As I contemplate this new year before us, my mind is flooded with details, plans, questions, hopes......and yes, some fears.

Beginning something new tends to create some level of anxiety.  But, that's when trust comes into play.  I trust God completely.

He has never failed me, nor will he fail you.  I do not like the circumstance under which I come to Woodbury.  In my mind,

Tim Harbin should still be here.  But our thoughts and God's thoughts do not always align.  We can honor Tim's memory by

staying the course, building upon the strong foundation he laid.  A new year.  I am so thankful to be sharing it with you!

            Singing His Praises,
